The history of Civil Engineering Faculty |
Established in 2007, School of Civil Engineering has rapidly paved its way toward a successful modernized division at Babol Noshirvani University of Technology and away from the old educational-based-only academic unit, showing a real leapfrogging development.
At the present, the faculty of CE comprises of three main fields: Civil, Surveying, and Architectural Engineering.
The faculty offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering.. The Architectural and Surveying Engineering also offers B.Sc. degree program.
The School of Civil Engineering has also nine areas of concentration. The post graduate programs at Civil Engineering Faculty lead to the degree of M.Sc. and Ph.D. in the following fields:
1. Structural Engineering
2. Earthquake Engineering
3. Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering
4. Transportation and Highway Engineering
5. Hydraulic Structures
6. Environmental Engineering
7. Water Engineering
8. Offshore Engineering
9. Marine Structures
The Ph.D. program consist of the first 6 abovementioned fields.
Currently, this faculty benefits from 39 full-time faculty members consisting of 3 professors, 11 associate professors, 17 assistant professors, and 8 lecturers. In addition, there are 5 Ph.D. scholars.
The CE faculty with well-equipped laboratories and workshops in different branches of civil and surveying engineering offers a great chance for the students to be trained and conduct their research projects.
Moreover, the 8th National Congress on Civil engineering was successfully held in CE faculty on May 7-8, 2014.
